Planning is underway to open the Children’s Respite Home in Scott County, serving the southern region of the Twin Cities Metropolitan area. Respite is scheduled on the weekends serving approximately 156 children and their families annually.
The Children’s Respite Home is committed to providing a safe and structured environment for children with a variety of disabilities and/or related conditions.
Heartstrings strives to promote relationship-based, cost-effective services that preserve and maintain families in their home environment. By providing respite, family members (the caregivers) receive time off from the daily challenges they encounter with their child, providing the opportunity to recuperate.
Heartstrings believes in the “family system.”
The Children’s Respite Home addresses the special needs of children and adolescents with disabilities and/or related conditions by including special trainings for staff, the availability of sensory input and integration, knowledge and familiarity of communication interventions and training positive behavioral intervention approaches.
The Children’s Respite Home will be licensed to support children ages birth to 17 years. Heartstrings collaborates with the child’s support system (family and social worker) to place the child into the most appropriate grouping of children at the home. Heartstrings will design the groupings around similar interests promoting social opportunities, stability, and shared experiences (families and child).
This seminar will broaden your definition of the terms: customer and service. Our training teaches the significance of building relationships, the impact of good communication, and the confidence it requires to interact with a variety of customers who encompass varying personalities.
